We’ve been in the business of house plans for over 35 years. In that time, we have seen trends come and go. Some things with the home design business remain the same. House plans are made for families. Small families, large families, traditional families, blended families; they all need the same things. You need a home where you know your family is going to be comfortable. You want a home where you know you and yours are going to thrive. So, we may be in the business of house plans and home design, but we are also in the business of families.

Two Great Plans

When you have a great idea, sometimes you just don’t want to let that spark go. You want to use that brilliance to the best effect and make sure that you get the most out of that inspiration. That is the case with these two house plans. NDG 1340 is a best-selling plan that has been a consistent choice for builders and consumers for years.

People look for this plan in particular to build for growing families. It came to our attention that perhaps some of the families are growing or intend to grow a bit bigger than we thought they were going to. So, we took NDG 1340, which is a 3-bedroom home design, and gave it a 4th bedroom. This gave us our newest plan in the European collection which is MEN 5225.

Annabelle (NDG 1340)

This European style house plan is loved by both builders and homeowners because of its great design. This gorgeous home design gives you just over 1,500 square feet of living space with 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. The exterior of this home is very easy to customize to fit your tastes and preferences. This home plan gives you massive curb appeal with a pyramid/hip roof and lovely gables over the windows and the 2-bay garage. On the inside, you will find an open floor plan that incorporates the great room, kitchen and hearth/dining area and a large master suite. As you approach the home, the first thing you notice about this plan is the curb appeal. This home design has a lovely pyramid/hip roofline that is sure to make it stand out from the crowd. Added details over the windows and garage make sure that you stop and take a second look.

The front of the home has a lovely, dainty covered porch with brick work accents. This is perfect to keep you dry in the weather and a great place to decorate for the holidays.

Stepping into the home, you find yourself in the foyer. The foyer is partitioned off from the open floor plan to make it a grand entry way from the double doors. The foyer also has a side entrance from the garage.

Stepping further into the home, you find yourself in the open floor plan. This open floor plan incorporates the great room, kitchen and dining area. This space has plenty of character to impress your guests.

The great room features a large brickwork fireplace along the left wall and exposed timber beams that run throughout the large space. The great room also has a vaulted ceiling to give your home depth and style.

The hearth/dining area gives you tons of room to entertain while keeping it close and cozy for small family gatherings or Taco Tuesday. The hearth/dining room features three large windows that face the rear of the home.

Adjacent to the hearth/dining area is the kitchen. This kitchen is a cook’s dream! This kitchen has more counterspace than a Kardashian has purses! The kitchen features a central island that gives you more prep space as well as informal seating for 4.

The best part of the kitchen is probably the large double sink in the corner of the kitchen. This allows you to look out onto your property while you are cleaning up. The kitchen also gives you access to the grilling porch on the rear of the home through a set of French doors.

Adjacent to the great room are bedrooms 2 and 3. Each bedroom has a window that faces the front and side of the home, respectively. Bedroom 3 offers you a slightly bigger space but has a smaller closet. While bedrooms 2 offers you a slightly smaller space and a walk-in closet. Each bedroom shares the nearby hall bathroom.

On the other side of the plan you will find the master suite. The master bedroom is large and gives you lovely detailing in the boxed style ceilings and the two windows that face the side of the home. The master suite sits off a small hallway off the great room to give you added privacy.

The master bath has plenty of space and amenities to spare. The double vanity has knee space under one side that is perfect for doing make up and fixing hair. The master bath also gives you a large whirlpool shower and tub combo that will help you relax after a hard day of work. Don’t forget about the two walk-in closets!

Huntcliff Manor (MEN 5225)

This new European style house plan by award winning designer Michael E. Nelson is sure to please. This house plan combines the style and luxury of the European style with Michael’s efficient use of space. You can’t go wrong with a home that looks and feels like it should belong to royalty! The exterior of the home gives you that traditional brick work look of the European style home design and mixes it up with lovely dark woods to bring it a bit of a rustic vibe. On the interior you will find even more to love with a large open floor plan that combines your great room, kitchen and dining room. This house plan has just under 1,800 square feet of living space with 4 bedrooms and 2 full baths.

As you approach the home, the first thing that you notice is the pyramid/hip roofline. This style of roof is classic and is easy to build and maintain making it a sure-fire win with both builders and homeowners alike.

The front of the home continues these classic lines with a small front porch that is perfect for decorating for the holidays and a grand double door for the entryway. The front of the garage and the shutters also have this rustic European look to give you great curb appeal.

As you enter the home, you find yourself in the foyer. The foyer gives you a grand entrance to the home with a high ceiling. This is a perfect place to have a drop zone or to have an old-fashioned hat and umbrella stand.

The foyer leads you into the open floor plan. This open floor plan incorporates the great room, kitchen and dining areas. The great room is stunning with a vaulted ceiling and exposed beams. It also features a large fireplace on the left wall of the space.

The kitchen features a large island in the middle of the space with bar seating for four that is perfect for an informal meal or quick breakfast. The kitchen also features an “L" shaped countertop that runs along two of the walls. This gives you plenty of space to prep your meals. The double sink in rear of the kitchen faces a window that looks out over the rear of the space.

Along the right side of the home, you will find bedrooms 2, 3 and 4. These bedrooms give the kids plenty of storage space with large closets and windows that face the front and side of the home. They all share the hall bath near the front of the home.

The master suite is on the other side of this split floor plan with the laundry room and entrance from the 2-bay garage. The master bedroom gives you a lovely boxed ceiling and two windows that face the rear of the home. The master bath features a double vanity, whirlpool tub with shower and two walk-in closets.
